Dear Tulane Community:
On Thursday, March 24, hundreds of your colleagues will give back, pay it forward and have a lot of fun by participating in the sixth annual Wave of Green Day of Service. This is a highly anticipated event for many faculty and staff who relish a day devoted to serving the local community they love so well.
Sorting Mardi Gras beads at Arc of Greater New Orleans, working at City Park or supporting other community partners such as Youth Rebuilding New Orleans, Second Harvest Food Bank and the Northshore Nature Center are among the many "waves of service" available this year.
The day will begin at Turchin Stadium, where buses will provide round-trip transportation from campus to each service site. After our work is done, we'll all gather again at Turchin Stadium to enjoy a festive lunch and trade stories from the day's adventures. If all this sounds better than another day at the office, register to join us between now and March 9 at http://tulane.edu/wave-of-green. Our colleagues at the Tulane National Primate Research Center also have planned a full day of service. For more information on this, please contact Stacey Schwankhart at sschwank@tulane.edu.
Wave of Green Day of Service is a vivid example of Tulane's long tradition of service – one that is warmly welcomed by the community and our nonprofit partners who provide such important and needed assistance to our hometown day in and day out. I hope you can join us.
