Dear Tulane Community:
Do you feel as helpless as I do watching Ebola ravage countries in West Africa, bringing such human suffering to so many innocent people and threatening countries the world over, including our own?
Do you wish you could do something – anything – to help? Some Tulane University medical students asked themselves these same questions. But they found an answer. Maybe it is the answer for all of us.
Tonight at 7 p.m. these students will present a benefit concert at the House of Blues, featuring great food, raffles, a silent auction, an open bar and music by the 60s, 70s and 80s cover band Imaginary Frenz.
Tickets for SeLebrating Sierra Leone are $35 in advance and $40 at the door; student tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. All proceeds will support relief and research work at the Kenema Government Hospital in Sierra Leone.
This is your chance to help fight this terrible epidemic. One of the biggest needs for healthcare workers is personal protective gear. One ticket for the concert will provide funding to buy suits to protect two doctors for one day.
