Dear Tulane Community:
Carnival season may be over but there are still plenty of good reasons to gather together for a common purpose – even before Jazz Fest.
On April 2, Tulane faculty, staff and administrators will take part in the 5th annual Wave of Green Day of Service. City Park, Second Harvest, Youth Rebuilding New Orleans, Arc of Greater New Orleans, STARC and Northlake Nature Center will be filled with Tulanians mulching, weeding, sorting, painting, building, cooking and helping in numerous other ways.
Nearly every dimension and focus of Tulane is defined and measured by the extent to which it serves others. This makes us better students, teachers, researchers and administrators. It also helps attract new students and professors (even presidents!) from around the country to Tulane. And like everything else in New Orleans, it is also a good time. In that spirit, the Wave of Green Day of Service will end with a barbecue for volunteers at Greer Field at Turchin Stadium.
Almost 250 of your colleagues have already signed up for this year's Day of Service, but we have room for plenty more. Please register by March 18 to join the service and the fun.
I will see you there.
