Dear Tulane Community:
Is it time to come home, so soon?
It seems like the new semester has just gotten underway, and we are already preparing to welcome parents, alumni, fans and friends back to campus for Wave '19 – Homecoming, Reunion and Family Weekend. This annual event is one of my personal favorites and a highlight for thousands of students, faculty, staff, returning Tulanians and everyone who loves our university.
Our Green Wave football team has certainly given us a lot to cheer for at this year's Homecoming – not only for what it has accomplished on the field but, more importantly, for what it has achieved in the classroom. Tulane student-athletes recently posted a Graduation Success Rate (GSR) of 95 percent, placing them sixth among the 130 Division I Football Bowl Subdivision universities.
This, and a 5-2 record, are just two reasons to make sure you are at Yulman Stadium when the Green Wave face the University of Tulsa during this year's Homecoming matchup. But the big game is just one of the many exciting Homecoming happenings we have planned.
The fun begins Monday with the Lighting of McAlister and the debut of this year's Homecoming Court on the front steps of McAlister Auditorium at 7 p.m. Between then and the following Sunday, there are numerous concerts, including the annual Tipping Point, races, brunches, comedy shows, ceremonies, class reunions, open houses, tours, exhibitions, tailgating and much, much more.
Check out the full schedule here, and I will see you when everyone comes home!
