Roll Waving into Homecoming

Dear Tulane Community:

This year’s Homecoming, Reunion and Family Weekend, which began yesterday and continues through Sunday, will be nothing short of historic! For the first time since most of our current students were born, the Green Wave is nationally ranked in both the Associated Press and Coaches polls. The Wave is also bowl-eligible for the fourth time in five years – rolling into Homecoming red hot and looking forward to great things to come.

In fact, all Tulanians are looking forward to great things to come, as we are experiencing historic momentum in every dimension of the university. This forward progress will be proudly on display during what promises to be a memorable Wave Weekend.

We’ll welcome alumni back to campus and back to the classroom with a lecture series featuring some of Tulane’s star professors. We will celebrate Tulane research, scholarship, art, culture and history with concerts, exhibitions, workshops and more. I am especially looking forward to hosting a conversation with best-selling biographer Walter Isaacson, the Leonard Lauder Professor of American History and Values at Tulane.

If you click here to view the full Wave Weekend schedule, you will see something for everyone — families returning to campus to visit their students, alumni reuniting with classmates, students relishing a quintessential college experience and longtime fans embracing new hope. This is a weekend to enjoy gathering together again as students, parents, alumni, faculty, staff, fans and friends to celebrate all things Tulane and all Tulanians!

Those who have not been back recently will immediately recognize stunning physical transformations in progress on the uptown and downtown campuses. There is a lot of change underway but, rest assured, the one-of-a-kind culture and warmth of our community — what makes us uniquely Tulanian and New Orleanian — remains the same and is as strong as ever.
