Hello, Tulane Class of 2027!

Dear Tulane Community,

The joy and celebration that filled Yulman Stadium at the Unified Commencement made it just a little bit easier for us to say goodbye to the Class of 2023. As we take a breath and look ahead, I can’t help but think of the classic Beatles lyric: you say goodbye, and I say hello…

…hello to the Class of 2027! I’m thrilled to report that we have once again recruited an academically accomplished and truly diverse class.

The Class of 2027 will come to Tulane from 49 states and territories and over 35 different countries. Thanks in part to the Louisiana Promise program, our home state is the most represented in the incoming class, with California, New York, Texas and New Jersey rounding out the top five.

The academic achievements of this cohort set a new bar, with an average GPA of 3.7 and no fewer than 32 valedictorians. Average SAT and ACT scores were remarkable: 1448 for the SAT and 32 for the ACT.

This incoming class will also bring a rich array of backgrounds and perspectives to campus. More than 30% of the class are students of color and 13% identify as LGBTQIA+, while 10% are first-generation college students. All of these numbers represent new admissions records for us and reflect our commitment to attracting a diverse community of outstanding scholars. The opportunity to live, learn and engage with others whose experiences differ from our own is a cornerstone of higher education, leading to innovation, improved decision-making, and civil discourse.

It's clear that the Class of 2027 did not wait for college to start making their mark on the world. Among their ranks you’ll find published authors, recording artists, non-profit founders and national team athletes. I can’t wait to see what they accomplish during their time at Tulane and beyond.

Please join me in thanking the Undergraduate Admission team for their hard work in bringing in this incredible class. I look forward to welcoming the Class of 2027 when they arrive in August from Metairie, Massachusetts, Malaysia and all points between.

TUDay & Tomorrow will take a break this summer as we prepare for the next academic year and the arrival of our newest class. I hope you will find time to rest, recharge, and reflect on the amazing things we’ve accomplished together this year. Thank you for everything you do for TU!
