Protecting our Community, COVID-19 Update

Dear Tulane Community:

I am writing today to assure you of our constant vigilance and commitment to keeping our academic community safe, our operations secure and our research mission fully engaged during the current COVID-19 outbreak.

I hope you have been reading the regular updates to the Tulane community on travel restrictions and preventive measures related to COVID-19. If you missed any of these messages or want to use them as a reference, they can be found here, along with other helpful information and FAQs.

While at this point we do not know whether there will ultimately be any government ordered or health agency recommended lockdown, we are working to establish contingency plans that will allow us to continue the university’s academic and research mission during any such scenario. I also want to recognize and commend the researchers throughout the university who are collaborating to develop a vaccine and rapid test while striving to understand the origin of this disease, its epidemiology and ways to prevent a further outbreak.

As our researchers work to combat this global threat, we are intently focused on taking the appropriate actions across the university to ensure the safety of our community. You are our first and foremost priority.
