Big Thanks, Good Gifts, High Hopes

Dear Tulane Community:

I hope everyone had an enjoyable Thanksgiving. The continued recovery of Tulane medical student Peter Gold was at the top of the list of blessings for which my family gave thanks when we gathered together this year. Peter's incredible act of heroism, bravery and compassion has captured worldwide attention and universal admiration. Tulane has never been prouder of one of its own and everyone in the university community continues to hold Peter and his family in our hearts, thoughts and prayers.

As we enter the holiday season I am heartened that so many of you have donated to the Staff Advisory Council's CASA Toy Drive. The deadline for gifts or monetary donations is 5 p.m. today. So, if you have not given yet, please visit this website to find a drop-off location near you or to donate online.

We not only have much to be grateful for but also much to look forward to at Tulane, including the hiring of our new Athletics Director Troy Dannen. With Troy coming on board and the hiring of new football and volleyball coaches on the horizon, the stage is set for an exciting future in Green Wave athletics. We have top athletic facilities and a top academic program in the world's greatest city. We are definitely an athletics program and a university trending upward.
