President’s Convocation for New Students at Tulane University

Your Future Starts Here

The President’s Convocation for New Students is the first class at Tulane University. It is the formal academic gathering that unites the entire class of first-year students during their first week at Tulane University, and all are required to participate.

At each session of Convocation, students will learn from the President, Provost, Dean of Newcomb-Tulane College, and Dean of Undergraduate Admission how to be successful academically, how to foster community and civil dialogue, how to embark on intellectual discovery, and how to optimize the resources Tulane has available to support students on their academic journey. The Dean of Newcomb-Tulane College concludes Convocation by presenting a formal charge to the class that will guide and challenge students throughout their career at Tulane.
